Hey Entrepreneurs! First, thank you for your interest in the Queen of Things Blog and TV! I am excited to be taking this journey in blogging and original content creation. I have so much to share with you and my hope is that you get immense value in all that I have to share.
I wanted to share a little bit about myself. My name is Zahra Marks, but you can call me Z. I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington! Shout out to the 2-0-6! I graduated from Wells College, in Aurora, New York with a degree in Mathematical and Physical Sciences, with a concentration in Computer Science.
I am a proud wife of the nicest guy ever (just ask his former classmates), Tarian Marks, a software engineer.
Tarian and I have 3 beautiful children: Kylii, Ayoka, and Tariq.
I am the daughter of two of the most dynamic people you could ever meet, Shani and Kwami Taha. I will share more about them in blog posts. Individually they are pretty incredible, but together they were dynamic. Not only are they wonderful parents but they have grown to be my greatest mentors.
I am the product of Catholic, Sacred Heart, and all women education, which has influenced me in profound ways.
I am a Product Manager at Ford Motor Credit Company, where my team and I deliver a product called, FordPay®. I am responsible for a lot in this role, but I’ll save the details for my blog posts – cannot wait to share.
While I have spent over 10 years in corporate information technology (IT), one of my proudest accomplishments is my side hustle! As budding entrepreneurs, Tarian and I manage our web development and hosting company called, Wonkum. Additionally, we are launching our mobile development company, called Mobil.IT (pronounced mobil-it-tee) soon, so more to come there!
Over the last few decades I have gleaned so many lessons, since I first started working at 14 years old. I have made a thousand mistakes and I have just as many successes. I have launched multi-million dollar projects and was literally responsible for saving people’s lives.
I developed this blog to be able to share the lessons and expertise I have gained over the years and help encourage you in master mining your ‘ships. What ‘ships you say? I want to help you you win in your relation-ships, your partner-ships, your leader-ships, your friend-ships, your hard-ships, your ‘ships! It is hard enough navigating this thing called life, but you don’t have to do it alone.
In sharing my stories and strategies, my hope is you frown a lot less, smile a bit more and win in everything you do.
Thank you all for taking the time to hear my short story, cannot wait to share more.
